What was your most memorable moment here at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia?

My most memorable moment was the time spent with my classmates, not just in the class, but the meals that we shared, the time that we spent camping in the postgraduate common room, trying to complete our coursework, preparing for final exams and just doing some casual activities.

Why did you decide to study MSc Petroleum Engineering at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia?

After a few years of working, I decided to take a career break just so I can go back to my basics, to my fundamentals. So that's the reason why I took a year off from work to pursue an MSc in Petroleum Engineering.

I think the programme itself here, the school itself, connects me with peers and classmates from international countries. So, I do have friends from China, Vietnam, Russia, and Nigeria. We don't just learn reservoir or drilling engineering in class, we get to bond with each other.

In what ways has the MSc in Petroleum Engineering empowered you to make an impact in your organisation or industry?

I did my bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering as well. But I think the person I was back then and currently taking this master's programme, I'm a totally different person. It helps me in enhancing my fundamentals. It helps me to contribute better to my company and to the organisation, especially since this is continuous learning for me. I believe the impact is towards my own personal growth and also in terms of making contributions to my company.

What makes you a proud Heriot-Watt University graduate?

I'm a proud Heriot-Watt University Malaysia graduate because it is not just a place for academics, it is also a mixing pot of cultures where I get to connect with peers internationally and locally.
