PhD Scholarships

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia offers two exciting PhD scholarships opportunities:

50% matching discount on the tuition fees for the PhD programme for new enrolments who have secured the remaining of their fees from their current employers.

To be eligible for the proposed fee discount, the candidate needs to provide:

  • a letter of support from their employer indicating their sponsorship for the students of 50% of the fees, living costs, etc.
  • Evidence of fulfilling the entry requirement for the PhD programmes
  • Support from potential research supervisory team at Heriot-Watt

Under this scheme:

  • The University will provide a 50% fee waiver from Year 1 to Year 3, only.
  • The candidate will be responsible for the remaining of the fees or thesis pending costs should their studies prolonged to Year 4.
  • The candidate will be requested to contribute up to 6 hours per weeks of teaching activities up to a total of 36 hours per semester i.e., 108 hours per academic year.
  • Induction to teaching will be required before carrying out teaching assignment.
