Project title
Investigating the optimal conditions for processing composite materials made of textile waste.
Project abstract
As global textile production continues to rise, the amount of generated textile waste is also increasing. The aim of the project is to establish optimal conditions for the open-loop recycling of mixed-fibre textile waste (primarily polyester and cotton) into composite materials. A series of experiments were conducted to evaluate the feasibility of processing these materials under varying conditions, including fibre composition and processing parameters, such as temperature and time. The behaviour and properties of the developed material were assessed through a range of tests, including compressive strength and moisture absorption, to determine its suitability for potential end-use applications.
