Coming to university is one of the biggest moves you'll ever make. We embed equality and diversity into all that we do at Heriot-Watt making sure that you are able to achieve your potential during your time here as a student.

Whether you are studying full-time or part-time, if you are an undergraduate, postgraduate, e-learners or an international student, even if you are a prospective student applying to study here you are protected under the Equality Act (2010). In some instances past students are also protected. What does this mean? It means due to our legal requirements you are protected under the provisions of the Equality Act (2010), including the Public Sector Equality Duty.

Student support

The University provides a range of advice and support for students on all kinds of issues including settling into university life, money, accommodation, disability and personal safety. Student Support can also help if you get into difficulties by providing support and counselling to make sure you get the most out of your time at Heriot-Watt.
