Centres for Doctoral Training
Heriot-Watt University helps trains the future generation of researchers across ten inter-university Centres for Doctoral Training (CDTs).
We lead two of the six centres funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC):
- EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Green Industrial Futures. Visit the website for more information.
- EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Photonics (Use-Inspired Photonic Sensing and Metrology). Visit the website for more information.
We co-lead, in collaboration with the Universities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, the UK's first centre to offer specific training in algebra, geometry, topology and mathematical physics:
- EPSRC CDT in Algebra, Geometry and Quantum Fields. Visit the website for more information.
We are a partner in:
- EPSRC and MOD CDT in Sensing, Processing, and AI for Defence and Security, led by the University of Edinburgh. Visit the website for more information.
- EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Quantum Informatics led by University of Edinburgh. Visit the website for more information.
- EPSRC CDT in Applied Quantum Technologies, led by University of Strathclyde. Visit the website for more information.
We also lead:
- UKRI AI CDT in Dependable and Deployable Artificial Intelligence for Robotics (D2AIR). For more information visit the Edinburgh Centre for Robotics website.
