44. Pinus nigra maritima

The Corsican Pine is native to the woodlands around the Mediterranean and can grow up to 55 metres (180 feet) tall. This specimen is approximately 20 metres (65-70 feet) tall. It has, over the years lost a number of large limbs to storm damage but still has a marvelous open crown. Its timber is used for construction, paper making and fuel.
