Tree-Trail-1-1000

1. Quercus frainetto

Hungarian or Italian oak native to S.E. Europe. They can grow up to 30 metres (125 feet) tall. This fine specimen is around 22-24 metres (75-80 feet) high. A wonderfully shaped tree to have outside the main entrance to the university.  The leaves turn brown, russet or yellow in the Autumn but drop quite early compared to the common oak.
