Overview
The Brodie Family Scholarship provides financial support of £2,500 per year (or £2,000 per year for students enrolled in a five-year programme) to four undergraduate students.
- Two scholarships will be awarded to students commencing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Two additional scholarships will be offered to students joining any of our undergraduate programmes.
The scholarship is aimed at students coming to study in September 2026 from a widening participation background to support with their living costs and will be paid for each year of their undergraduate studies.
Eligibility
The Brodie Family Scholarship provides students coming to study an undergraduate degree from widening participation backgrounds who are joining us in September 2026, with extra financial support to help towards living costs. Please check if you meet our Widening access criteria.
How to apply
Please click 'apply' and fill in the form below no later than the deadline of Monday 6th April 2026. Please be aware that a short statement of up to 300 words is required regarding your financial situation. To apply you must hold an offer to study at Heriot-Watt in September 2026.
Note - this bursary is for new students who will be joining Heriot-Watt in September 2026 only. Current students who are already enrolled are not eligible to apply. If you are a current student facing financial difficulty please visit our Supporting our students pages (internal access only).
