The Angus Macdonald Scholarship is a new annual award made possible by the generous donation of distinguished alumnus Dr Ian Duncan, President of the Society of Actuaries (2026–27). Established in honour of Professor Angus Macdonald's outstanding service to the Department of Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics, the scholarship recognises exceptional academic commitment and achievement, with one recipient selected each year.

The scholarship has been established to support one student with a UK Fee status on the MSc Actuarial Management or MSc Actuarial Management with Data Science with living costs by awarding £1,000 to a prospective student enrolling onto their chosen programme in September 2026.

The recipient will be determined by looking at the applicant's previous academic achievements as well as financial need.
