Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Emeritus Professor Sir Geoff Palmer KT OBE

Heriot-Watt University, in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council and represented by the Rt Hon Lord Provost and the Lord Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh, is proud to host a special service celebrating the life and legacy of our late Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Sir Geoff Palmer KT OBE – world-renowned academic, scientist, and human rights campaigner.

The service will take place at St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh on Friday 10th October from 11:00 - 12:30, and will celebrate Sir Geoff’s outstanding contributions to science, education, and social justice. The event will feature inspiring speeches from distinguished guests, musical performances, and reflections on his extraordinary achievements and lasting impact on society.

Join us as we honour a remarkable individual whose work continues to shape lives and inspire future generations.

For those unable to attend the service in person, the Memorial Service will be available to watch live on YouTube. In addition, staff and students are warmly invited to join a live stream of the service in the Craig Room (JW2) at the Heriot-Watt Edinburgh Campus from 11:00 AM.
