Biography
Matt Riemland is an Assistant Professor in Translation/Interpreting at Heriot-Watt University (Scotland). His research has broadly focused on the interactions between language, power, and technology, particularly the political and ethical dimensions of AI’s environmental harms.
Previously, he was an Assistant Professor in the Institute of Humanities at SWPS University (Poland). He holds a PhD from the School of Applied Languages and Intercultural Studies at Dublin City University (Ireland), an MPhil in Literary Translation from Trinity College Dublin (Ireland), and a BA in German and Philosophy from the University of Michigan (United States).
