Biography
I am a Graduate Teaching Assistant and PhD researcher in Management at Heriot-Watt University. I joined HWU in December 2024 as a GTA in the Department of Research Methods and Practice, School of Social Sciences.
My doctoral research, MPs and their corporate networks: An examination of MPs' outside interests and Parliamentary activity, examines the relationship between UK MPs' embeddedness in corporate networks and their activity in Parliament. I explore how MPs' links to firms and corporate boards relate to parliamentary behaviour, including voting patterns, speeches, questions, attendance and appointments, using a range of quantitative methods including Social Network Analysis (SNA) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Prior to starting my PhD, I completed a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) internship at the world's third-largest oilfield services company in Aberdeen, where I worked on cash performance, financial planning and forecasting. I hold an MA (Hons) in Economics and Politics and an MScEcon in Petroleum, Energy Economics and Finance from the University of Aberdeen. My previous research explored Poland's involvement in EU climate targets and the role of offshore wind in Poland's energy transition, including an investment analysis of the Baltic Power offshore wind farm.
Alongside my doctoral research, I teach postgraduate students in research methods and social network analysis. In February 2026, I became an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
