Biography

I am a PhD student in Psychology at Heriot-Watt University, where my research examines how humans innovate.  My PhD focuses particularly on the discovery, understanding, and exploitation of novel affordances.

My broader research interests include human innovation, learning and discovery, cognitive processes underlying adaptive behaviour, and cultural evolution. I am also interested in how people develop and transmit novel behaviours and structures through learning and interaction. This includes methods such as iterated learning experiments.

Alongside my research, I contribute to teaching within the School of Social Sciences, supporting undergraduate teaching in areas including introductory psychology, biological psychology and research methods.
