Biography
I am an Assistant Professor in Intercultural Communications in the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies at Heriot-Watt University. With a background in teaching English for Academic Purposes, my teaching now focuses on academic literacy, applied linguistics, and intercultural communication.
With a particular interest in sociocultural linguistics, my scholarship interests include academic literacies, language and learning, intercultural communication, assessment design, and approaches to supporting student success in higher education.
Alongside my role at Heriot-Watt University, I work as an Effective Learning Adviser at Queen Margaret University, where I support students in developing their academic literacy skills. I also work as an English language examiner, contributing to the assessment of English language proficiency in UK higher education.
