Biography

Jane is an Assistant Professor in Brewing and Distilling and an expert in biomass processing, separation, fermentation and scale-up. She has both an academic and industry background, and over 15 years of experience in valorising brewing & distilling by-products. She has patented a process for production of biobutanol from spent grains and food waste and has developed a patented process to produce protein as a feed ingredient for salmon from pot ale. She is an active member of the KTN/IBioIC Bioeconomy Cluster Builder and commercial reviewer for IBioIC grants.
