Dr Graeme Barker

Biography

Hello, I’m Dr Graeme Barker and I’m the program director for MChem Chemistry and MChem Medicinal Chemistry as well as being the study director for all 4^th and 5^th year MChem students. As part of the undergraduate chemistry programs, I teach fundamental organic synthesis to the 2nd year, as well as advanced asymmetric synthesis in the 4^th year. Final year MChem students join a research lab for the whole year and if you join my group, you’ll work on a project in medicinal chemistry for anti-inflammatory drug development aimed at tackling serious but currently untreatable diseases, or new green, efficient and cheaper methods for manufacturing pharmaceuticals.
