Biography
Florence graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Electronics (First class) in 2002, Masters degree majoring in VLSI in 2005, PhD in Engineering majoring in VLSI in 2011 and MBA in 2014 from the University of Derby, UK. She is a Chartered Engineer with IET (UK), a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), a Professional Technologist with the Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT), Senior Fellow of Advanced HE, Senior Member of IEEE and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer. In addition, she is a certified trainer by PSMB and an accredited trainer by HRD Corp.
She has extensive research experience of over 20 years in the area of VLSI design, Design for Testability (DFT), Artificial Intelligence and Visible Light Communication. She has also published more than 50 papers in reputable journals, supervised postgraduate students to completion and collaborated with researchers from other universities and industries securing research grants.
She has collaboorated with industries such as Intel Corporation, Mini Circuits Technologies, Daikin, Emerald Systems, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDEC) and several reputable education institutions on research and consultancy projects. At present, she is an Associate Professor and Head of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Robotic and Mechatronic Engineering programmes.
