Biography
Fariborz earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Iran's Petroleum University of Technology and has over a decade of experience in CO₂ capture and thermodynamics. His doctoral research focused on precise CO₂ solubility measurements in novel solvents and the development of advanced thermodynamic models for phase equilibrium predictions.
Following his Ph.D., he undertook a postdoctoral fellowship, where he further refined fundamental thermodynamic models such as Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT), with a particular emphasis on CO₂ capture applications. Beyond academia, he has made significant contributions to the oil and gas industry, applying thermodynamic principles to enhance process efficiency and develop innovative separation techniques.
In February 2023, Fariborz joined Heriot-Watt University as a researcher, where he continues to work on cutting-edge carbon capture technologies.
