Biography
Inna is an economic and environmental anthropologist whose research focuses on the global political economy of agri-food and fisheries systems. Her work examines sustainable rural livelihoods, agroforestry, climate resilience, environmental justice, and marine plastic pollution across the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean. She holds a BSc in Sociology from Middle East Technical University, Turkey, and an MSc and PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. Following her PhD, she was awarded a GCRF Postdoctoral Fellowship (PI), which enabled her to work with smallholder cacao and oil palm farmers and explore traditional ecological knowledge in tropical forest management. She subsequently worked as a lecturer at SOAS University of London and as a postdoctoral researcher at the Lyell Centre. Most recently, she worked across two projects on interdisciplinary research culture at the University of Edinburgh, exploring the use of gamification and game design to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and team science.
