Biography

My research concentrates on financial and governance issues in sport, with a particular focus on professional football. I am interested in the intersection between sport organisations as businesses and as social institutions, and in exploring the implications of this dual identity. Current work is focused on supporter ownership of football clubs, supporter involvement in club governance, and the moral economy of professional sport. Since 2007 I have led management workshops for aspirant football managers as part of the Scottish Football Association's UEFA Pro-licence qualification.
