Biography

Megan graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business Management from Queen Margaret University in 2022, earning a place on the Dean's List in recognition of academic excellence. In 2023, they completed a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Business Research Methods. In 2026, completed a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Teaching and Learning and was awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

In 2026, Megan also completed a PhD in Management at Heriot-Watt University. Their doctoral thesis, "A Virtuous Cycle": Exploring the Role of Philanthropy in Family Firms' Socioemotional Wealth, explores the role of philanthropy in shaping and sustaining socioemotional wealth within multigenerational family firms.

Currently, Megan is the Year 2 Coordinator for Management and the Academic Advisor for Year 2 students studying on Management programmes at Heriot-Watt University. Their teaching and student support have been recognised through several awards, including the 2026 Early Career Teacher of the Year award at the Heriot-Watt University School of Social Sciences Executive Dean's Staff Awards. In the same year, they were also nominated for the 2026 Celebrating our Values in Action (Collaborate) award at the Heriot-Watt University Celebrating our People Awards.
