Biography
Dr Antoinette Fionda-Douglas is a distinguished academic and entrepreneur, specializing in fashion, sustainability, luxury, and female entrepreneurship. With over 15 years of teaching experience and a robust academic background, she has become a thought leader in the fashion industry. Dr Fionda-Douglas is renowned for her influential research, including her leading paper, Luxury Fashion Brand Anatomy, which has significantly shaped the understanding of luxury branding. Her current research focuses on sustainable practices within the luxury fashion industry, exploring how transparency and traceability can drive responsible production. Dr Fionda-Douglas has strong ties to both industry and government, having worked with prestigious brands such as Marks & Spencer, the award-winning menswear brand Griffin, Richard Craig Consulting, and Mitsui. Her professional journey also includes collaborating with George Davies and contributing to sustainability initiatives at a global level as a UN-accredited expert and working with UNECE on sustainable fashion practices. Selected from over 2,000 applications, she exhibited her research at COP26, solidifying her position as a leader in the field. As a panel member for FASHINNOVATION and a guest columnist for The Herald, Dr Fionda-Douglas continues to influence both academic discourse and industry practices, with a goal of advancing sustainability and ethical entrepreneurship in fashion.
