Biography
Before joining the World Bank Group in mid-2020, Paul was the Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Scotland's international trade and investment organisation, Scottish Development International, operating across more than 30 international locations, and spent 13 years on the executive leadership team of Scotland's national economic development agency, Scottish Enterprise, including time as Interim CEO. As well as international trade and inward investment experience, Paul has led a public investment bank, Scottish Investment Bank, investing risk capital into high growth firms, and was CEO of a technology institute, investing in emerging sectors such as renewables, tech and life sciences.
Paul is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh and holds a Master of Business Administration from Strathclyde Graduate Business School.
