Ms Marta Phillips

Marta is a member of Court and the Finance Committee and is Chair of the Global Student Life Committee and the Borders Strategic Review Oversight Group.
Biography
She is a chartered accountant by profession and has worked in both the public and private sector. Marta finished her executive career as a chief executive of a non-departmental public body. She also previously worked in the banking sector.
Marta was awarded an OBE in the 2006 New Year's Honours list. She has a number of non-executive appointments, mainly in the public sector, including higher education and the health sector. This includes experience working as a chartered accountant, executive director and chief executive. She also has experience as a senior civil servant, supporting ministers in education and employment policy. Marta was involved in the delivery of the occupational pensions advisory service. She has experience as a non-executive board member and audit committee chair for a number of organisations. Marta was Deputy Chair of Court during 2021/22.
