Ms Julie Hotchkiss

Biography

Julie Hotchkiss is a member of the Court and Staff Committee. She is the Executive Director – People and Transformation for a global professional body that qualifies its members through examination. In this role, she leads the organisation’s people strategy and is responsible for shaping organisational culture and delivering major change programmes, including digital transformation, strategic reviews, and organisational change initiatives. Her work ensures these activities are fully aligned with the organisation’s strategic direction.

Julie holds a BA in Business and Management and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of Paisley (now the University of the West of Scotland). Her current role provides her with a global perspective on the matters considered by the Heriot‑Watt Staff Committee, as well as insight into the people‑related challenges and opportunities facing the University.

Prior to her current position, Julie served as Director – Europe and Americas at ACCA, where she played a key role in expanding and strengthening ACCA’s international footprint and reputation. In that leadership role, she worked closely with members, students, employers, and national professional bodies across numerous countries. She originally joined ACCA in 2014 as Director of Customer Service, leading global customer service and exam operations.
