Biography
Joey Hunter is one of the student‑elected full‑time officers and serves as a member of Court. She completed her BA (Hons) in Fashion at the Heriot‑Watt University Galashiels campus, joining as a second‑year direct‑entry student from Fife College. Before taking up her full‑time officer role, Joey worked for two years in the Student Engagement Team as the Galashiels Assistant.
During her time at Heriot‑Watt, Joey was actively involved in the student community, volunteering as a Shop Assistant with the Red Cross and serving as a Class Representative. She also contributed to several society committees, including the Graduate Fashion Futures Society and the Palestine Society.
Beyond the University, Joey has gained industry experience through a three‑year internship with House of Black, a sustainable fashion house in Glasgow, and has worked as a supervisor at the restaurant Down The Hatch. Her interests include sustainability, ethical supply chains, and dressmaking, and she enjoys travelling and learning about cultural traditions.
