Biography

Dr Yusuf Hassan is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management at Heriot‑Watt University Dubai, specialising in organisational behaviour, HRM and ethics across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. His academic expertise spans talent management, digital leadership and the gig economy, and he integrates experiential learning methods such as simulations and case studies to enhance student engagement. With a strong research and teaching profile, Dr Hassan brings contemporary business perspectives into the classroom, ensuring impactful learning experiences for students at all stages.

Dr Yusuf Hassan has established himself as a distinguished scholar in management, with a focus on organisational behaviour and sports management. He was selected as one of only 20 participants from over 1,400 applicants for the prestigious Democratizing Education for Global Sustainability and Justice (DemEd Global) programme at the University of Cambridge in 2024. His academic excellence has been recognised through the Emerging Scholar Award at the International Conference on Sport & Society (Spain, 2024; USA, 2023) and the NIPM‑DU Gold Medal during his postgraduate studies.

He has delivered guest lectures at leading institutions such as the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode and chaired sessions at international conferences including the International HR Conference Cum Conclave (IHRCC‑2023). Dr Hassan has represented India globally, notably as part of the Indian Youth Delegation to China (2019), organised by the governments of India and China.

He has secured several competitive grants, including a USD 6,500 award from the Muma Research Investment Program (University of South Florida), a €128,300 grant for the Communities of Practice project (Education Endowment Foundation, UK), and a €318,540 grant for the Micro Learning Entrepreneurship for Athletes (MLEA) project funded by Erasmus+ and the European Union. He has also received travel and professional development grants from Harvard University, the Yale‑China‑India Annual Conference and the European Union.

Dr Hassan’s extensive research, consultancy contributions and international engagements highlight his commitment to advancing global scholarship and fostering practical, cross‑cultural solutions in management and sports.
