Biography

Dr Sepideh is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Heriot-Watt University Dubai. She joined Heriot-Watt University in April 2024, where she teaches undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programme courses in Marketing. Her areas of expertise include Strategic Marketing, Digital Marketing, Social Media and Influencer Marketing, and Consumer Behaviour.

Dr Sepideh completed her PhD at the University of Bolton, Greater Manchester Business School, in the UK, focusing on Digital Marketing and Consumer Behaviour in digital platforms. She also holds an MBA in Strategic Marketing and a BBA from the University of Wollongong in Dubai. With over 10 years of experience working in various higher education institutions across the UAE, Dr Sepideh has developed a profound understanding of university functions in different systems such as American, British, and Australian, encompassing both teaching and administrative procedures. Her career began as a lecturer, and her diverse roles within student services, career advising, and administration have provided her with comprehensive knowledge of higher education.

Dr Sepideh's research interests and areas lie mainly in Digital Marketing, Social Media and Influencer Marketing, Consumer Behaviour on digital platforms, and Strategic Marketing. She has also contributed to other papers in the area of quality assurance in higher education, where she applied her experience to inform theory.
