Biography
Dr. Munir Lutfi has been a faculty member at Heriot-Watt University Dubai since August 2023. Before joining Heriot-Watt University, he held academic appointments at De Montfort University Dubai (Part-time), Abu Dhabi School of Management (Part-time), the University of Wollongong in Dubai (Full-time), and the University of Jordan (Full-time).
With more than 35 years of academic, professional, and industry experience, Dr. Lutfi's areas of expertise include accounting, auditing, taxation, fraud and forensic accounting, financial management, finance, and investment. His research interests focus on accounting fraud, forensic accounting, financial analytics, corporate governance, and the application of data analytics and emerging technologies in accounting and finance.
In addition to teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research, Dr. Lutfi has an established record of scholarly publications and professional contributions. He regularly delivers executive training programmes and professional seminars and provides consulting and advisory services to private-sector, semi-government, and government organisations. His work bridges academic research and professional practice, contributing to the development of individuals, organisations, and the accounting and finance profession.
