Biography

John Woodward is Head of School of Mathematical and Computer Science in Dubai.

His research draws on techniques and advances in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Optimisation, and Operational Research, and has applied these techniques to healthcare, aviation, and software development domains.

His work is motivated by theoretical insights, and pushing this through to the practical design of novel competitive algorithms.

In particular, he asks; how can we use AI/ML techniques to improve computer code, in terms of accuracy, speed, power consumption, bandwidth and memory usage.

Academic Leadership and Affiliations

  • Head of School of Maths and Computer Science
