Biography

I have a multi-cultural background, speaking fluent English, Arabic and German and conversational French, and enjoy the diversity of the Heriot-Watt faculty and student body. Perviously I studied and worked at institutions that gave me insight to approaches in pedagoy and education from various perspectives: British, German, Lebanese, American and Australian.
My academic and research interests include teaching and learning, and interdisciplinary topics that link computing and informatics with society. Technologies are impacting sectors such as healthcare, education, and construction with cybersecurity forming the umbrella that safeguard all tech ecosystems. In that space I supervise MSc and PhD students who are working on relevant projects. I am keen on maintaining links with industry and also engage in activities to support women in technology roles where I have lead roles in regional events such as Technovation and Women in Data Science (WiDS).
