Biography
Dr Adrian Turcanu is an Associate Professor at the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (MACS) in Heriot-Watt University Dubai (HWUD) since 2018. He is the Associate Director of Learning and Teaching and the Associate Director of Internationalisation at MACS Dubai.
His main areas of research are: mathematical modelling, statistical analysis and formal verification with a focus on bio-inspired systems and robotic mechanisms.
Prior to joining HWUD, Adrian was an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics and Computer Science department of University of Pitesti, Romania.
Adrian graduated both Mathematics and Computer Science undergraduate programmes at the University of Pitesti. Adrian completed his PhD in Computer Science at the same University as part of an European Union funded programme. His PhD journey included research collaborations with University of Dusseldorf, University of Seville, and Sheffield University.
