Eligibility to work in the UK

All employees are required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the UK. If you are a UK or Irish national, you have the right to live and work in the UK without any restriction. All other nationals require a visa to work in the UK.

Dubai

Dubai benefits

  • Relocation and Settling-in Allowance: International employees recruited from outside the UAE are provided with a relocation and settling-in allowance to ease their transition to the new environment.
  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance: The university offers medical insurance for the employee and contributes towards coverage for non-working dependents, ensuring the well-being of the entire family.
  • UAE Visa and Work Permit: The institution facilitates the process of obtaining a UAE visa and work permit, allowing employees to work and reside in the UAE legally.
  • Generous Leave Entitlements: Employees are entitled to 43 days of annual leave, which includes public holidays, along with a generous parental leave policy that supports work-life balance.
  • End-of-Service Gratuity: A severance pay gratuity is provided as per UAE labor laws, rewarding long-term service to the organisation.
  • Tax-Free Salaries: Employees benefit from tax-free salaries, maximizing their take-home pay.
  • Educational Allowance Contribution: For employees with children studying in the UAE, the organisation offers a contribution towards education allowance, supporting the educational needs of their families.
  • The employee and their dependents holding UAE residency are entitled to an annual flight allowance to their passport country. The allowance amount for children varies according to their age.

Eligibility to work in Dubai

We will make the necessary arrangements for your work permit once you have signed your Formal Contract of employment. Costs for work permits and employment passes are paid for by the University for you as an employee.

 

Malaysia

Malaysia benefits

  • Access to the Employees Provident Fund which provides financial security to its members, especially after retirement
  • Medical insurance for employee, and where applicable for children up to the age of 18 (or 23 if in full-time education) and non-working spouse

  • 22 days annual leave for less than 5 years of service, 27 days annual leave for 5 years and above

Eligibility to work in Malaysia 

To work in Malaysia, you are required to obtain an approved Expatriate visa prior to starting employment in Malaysia. We will make the necessary arrangements for your work permit with the Malaysian Immigration Department once you have signed your contract of employment.
