Heriot-Watt University Dubai, in collaboration with The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), is pleased to announce a series of Civil Engineering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars.

Join us for an insightful session presented by the IStructE UAE Regional Group on: Using IoT to Monitor and Manage Durability in Real Time.

This seminar will be led by Usama Jacir, Co-Founder & CEO of Pulse IoT Technologies. A Dubai-based pioneer in IoT solutions for structural durability monitoring, Usama is a Chemical Engineer by training with a specialization in corrosion. With over 30 years of experience in durability engineering, his expertise spans concrete protection and repair technologies, including specialty chemicals, cathodic protection, and protective coatings and linings.

The session will explore how IoT-enabled sensors are transforming structural health monitoring. Attendees will learn how embedded smart systems can capture real-time data on corrosion, environmental conditions, and material degradation. These insights help engineers assess durability, detect early signs of failure, and optimize maintenance strategies.

Certificates of participation will be awarded to all attendees.
