Civil Engineer for a Day

We are excited to bring you our next fun and interactive Engineering workshop - 'Civil Engineer for a Day'!

Here is an opportunity to experience what it would be like to study engineering at Heriot-Watt University.

We have developed a number of interactive workshops to showcase our Engineering degree programmes (Mechanical; Energy; Automotive; Chemical; Electrical and Electronic; Robotics, Autonomous and Interactive Systems, Civil and Architectural Engineering).

Our next Engineering workshop will be 'Civil Engineer for a Day'. In this session, we will take you through the process of exploring a typical land preparation task from a civil engineering perspective.

As a Civil Engineer, you develop, design, and construct sustainable buildings, such as skyscrapers, hospitals, offices, and schools, as well as infrastructure projects, such as bridges, roads, railways, airports, water networks, and power stations.

If you have ever wondered how massive projects come to life, this is your chance to find out!

We hope you have an enjoyable experience as you participate and engage with faculty and staff.

Certificates of participation will be awarded to all those who participate and hand in their projects.
