HWUM hosts agents as part of TNE 2025/2026 Agents’ Mission Series

Education agents from China, Brunei, and Indonesia visiting Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, October 2025.

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) was honoured to welcome 74 delegates of education agents from China, Brunei, and Indonesia as part of the British Council Malaysia’s Visit TNE 2025/2026 Agents’ Mission Series: Malaysia as a Study Destination. The visit took place on 28 October 2025, as part of a larger four-day programme running from 26–29 October 2025.

The mission aimed at providing participating agents with first-hand exposure to Malaysia’s transnational education (TNE) landscape, including UK branch campuses, British international schools, and the wider ecosystem of education and career opportunities available to students in the region.

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia was proud to serve as one of the essential stops in this carefully curated programme, alongside other United Kingdom universities in Malaysia. The event provided a valuable opportunity to showcase the Malaysia campus' world-class facilities, diverse academic offerings, and unique student experience to a targeted audience of experienced international education professionals.

Delegates were warmly welcomed at the campus plaza by members of the senior leadership and student support teams at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, followed by a group photo and a guided campus tour.

The formal programme began at Lecture Room 6 with a welcome briefing, followed by an engaging campus presentation delivered by Janice Yew, Chief Operating Officer and Registrar of the Heriot-Watt University Malaysia. Delegates also had the opportunity to hear directly from the University's current students Ma Yanzi, Franklin and Aung Moe who shared their personal experiences studying at the campus and navigating academic life in Malaysia.

The session concluded with a Q&A segment and light refreshments, allowing delegates to network informally with Heriot-Watt University Malaysia staff and students.

As a global university with a strong transnational presence, the University remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote cross-border educational exchange and collaboration.
