Profile
Stepping into leadership roles during my first year has been a transformative experience. As the future President and former Publicity Committee of the Borneo Cultural Club, I have loved channelling my passion for Borneo culture into leading a team. Serving as an HWUMCUP Officer taught me the practicalities of executing plans and managing budgets efficiently, all while working hard to bring people together through sports. Furthermore, joining various clubs as a Publicity Committee member allowed me to pursue my love for photography while pushing myself out of my comfort zone. It helped me transition from being an introvert to a confident communicator within the Heriot-Watt community.
Coming from an accounting background in secondary school, I can confidently say that Heriot-Watt University Malaysia is a prestigious and excellent institution. With 24/7 access to educational materials, deeply helpful lecturers, and a highly supportive, inclusive campus environment, students here can truly enjoy every single moment of their academic journey. Additionally, the international qualification offered here is invaluable for personal growth and making fresh graduates highly marketable in the future global workforce.
For anyone looking to build a successful career in the accounting and finance field, the study materials and digital workshop resources provided here, including easily accessible e-books are unparalleled. They not only significantly reduce costs but also equip you with the practical skills needed to stand out to employers. More than that, studying here will be a turning point in your life. The community at Heriot-Watt constantly inspires and pushes you to become a better version of yourself, giving you the confidence to believe that you can achieve anything.
My time in Foundation was truly one of the most memorable chapters of my life. The caring and lovely lecturers always went above and beyond to help us grasp new university concepts, which heavily contributed to achieving good grades. Beyond academics, the local and international friends I made provided the daily motivation I needed to keep moving forward. Heriot-Watt also heavily prioritises student wellbeing and stress relief.
I would love to give a special tribute to all my foundation lecturers: Ms. Natasya, Ms. Naziha, Ms. Jayamalar, and Sir Iqbal. Thank you for constantly sharing words of inspiration that guided me through the transition from secondary school to university life. You made my journey so much brighter! Your engaging, interactive teaching styles and use of innovative websites kept me completely focused and made learning genuinely joyful.
