Profile
As a MARA-sponsored third-year Chemical Engineering student at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, I carry the responsibility and privilege of representing not only myself but also the support and trust placed in me through this opportunity. My journey in Chemical Engineering has been one of continuous learning, growth, and discovery. To me, engineering is more than just theories, calculations, and processes; it is about transforming knowledge into meaningful solutions that can create a positive impact on industries and society. Throughout my studies, I have embraced challenges through lectures, laboratory sessions, engineering projects, and industry exposure. Field trips have been among the most valuable experiences in my journey, allowing me to witness how engineering concepts are applied in real industrial environments and strengthening my passion for becoming an engineer who contributes to future innovations.
Beyond academics, I believe that university life is a journey of personal growth, meaningful connections, and discovering the person I aspire to become. I had the opportunity to serve as part of the Welcome Week Orientation Committee, where I welcomed and supported new students as they began their university experience. This role allowed me to develop my leadership, communication, and teamwork skills while contributing to a positive and inclusive environment for others. I was also involved in the Philanthropy Club’s Publicity Team, where I contributed to promoting student initiatives and learned the importance of collaboration and creativity in bringing people together. Outside of my academic and committee commitments, participating in netball has been one of the memorable parts of my university life, allowing me to strengthen teamwork, build friendships, and create meaningful memories with fellow students.
Looking back on my journey at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, I am grateful for the experiences, challenges, and people who have shaped me into who I am today. The guidance and encouragement from the Chemical Engineering department and my lecturers have continuously inspired me to strive for excellence and keep improving myself. I believe Chemical Engineering offers a unique opportunity to combine scientific knowledge, innovation, and problem-solving to develop solutions that can make a difference in the world. As I continue my journey, I hope to uphold the values of perseverance, responsibility, and continuous learning while growing into an engineer who contributes positively to society.
