Dr Sunday Samuel is an Assistant Professor in Accounting and Director for MA Accountancy and MA Accountancy & Finance programmes. He is also the PGR lead for Accountancy group. His research interests include social and environmental accounting, oil and gas accounting, energy and sustainability accounting, financial and performance management, financial management, taxation and business management.

Background

Prior to joining Edinburgh Business School role, Dr Sunday served as a lecturer and held the position of Research and Seminar Coordinator in the School of Business, Law, and Social Sciences, and Deputy Lead of the Sustainable Development & Inclusive Living Challenge Space, leading and actively contributing to the university's research initiatives focused on sustainability and inclusivity, at Abertay University. Dr Samuel has mentored and supervised staff, postgraduate research students, and undergraduate students, ensuring their success and well-being throughout their academic and professional journeys. He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Centre for Social and Economic Data Analytics (CSEDA) at Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom. He is currently an External Examiners (DBA) at Teesside University and Canterbury Christ Church University, United Kingdom.
