Stephen Morrow

Associate Professor

I am Associate Professor in International Sport Management at Edinburgh Business School, and programme director of the new MSc in International Sport Management which begins in September 2023. My teaching specialisms include sport finance, sport governance and applied sport management.

My research focuses on financial and governance issues in sport, with a focus on professional football. Of interest is the intersection between sport organisations acting as businesses and as social institutions, and the implications which arise from this in terms of stakeholder involvement. Recent papers have focused on CSR in professional football and accountability in football clubs, as well as papers arising from an ESRC funded project on understanding the role of alcohol in football.

I have worked with several national and international sport governing bodies, and for many years have delivered management workshops for aspirant football managers as part of the Scottish Football Association's UEFA Pro-license qualification.
