Dr Jelena Janjusevic is Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus and Program Director for MSc in Management and Finance. Previously she used to teach at Montenegro Business School, University of Mediterranean in Montenegro. She teaches both UG and PG programs in finance and economics. 

In her 20 years long working experience she cooperated with many subjects on national and international level (government of Montenegro officials, municipalities, social partners, foreign government officials, international institution representatives – World Bank, IFC, EBRD, USAID, UNDP, CHF, EC, etc., domestic and foreign private companies). 

Additionally, she organized and attended to many conferences, seminars, workshops, press conferences; has a very good knowledge of econometrics, statistics, organizing surveys, focus groups, trend analysis, deep interviews, planning and organize trainings, etc. preparing number macroeconomic, socio-economic and financial analysis and papers she received an excellent knowledge about Montenegrin and regional development.

Background

Jelena has been an academic contributing to the Edinburgh Business School and Heriot-Watt University’s in her roles since 2017. Previously she used to teach at Montenegro Business School, University of Mediterranean in Montenegro.  

Beside teaching experience, Dr Janjusevic has strong managerial and research experience. Beside managing Centre for Sustainable Development, national research Centre, with mission to support sustainable development policy implementation, she was engaged on many different projects dealing macroeconomic, sustainable development, public administration capacity building (initiating number reforms in energy sector, urban planning, financial, health, pension system, education system, investments, business environment, legislation improvement, etc.). 

Moreover, she spent almost 7 years working in first think tank in Montenegro as researcher and analyst on many different projects dealing with business administration, macroeconomic, sustainable development, tourism, public administration capacity building, trend analysis, (energy sector, urban planning, financial, health, pension system, education system, investments, business environment, legislation improvement, energy efficiency, etc). I have a very good knowledge of econometrics, statistics, organizing surveys, focus groups, deep interviews, legislation analysis, and desk analysis.
