Florian Scheuring

Assistant Professor of Business Management

Florian is an Assistant Professor of Business Management at the Edinburgh Business School in Heriot-Watt University's School of Social Sciences. He coordinates the Undergraduate dissertation supervision for all Business Management students and is global course leader for ‘Freight Transport and Warehouse Management' delivered to students at Postgraduate level.

As part of his current research, he is looking into the influence of social capital in triadic business relationship settings and beyond on triad and system performance.  He has presented his work on the influence of social capital in collaborative port relationships at academic and practitioner conferences. Most recently his curiosity of performance management in e-sports teams lead to co-authoring a journal publication for Tourism Management.

Background

After completing his Master’s degree, Florian was awarded a scholarship to undertake his PhD research with Heriot-Watt University. During the initial three years of his PhD, Florian was a Business Research Methods Tutor, Guest Lecturer and Supervisor at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level within the field of Business Management at Heriot-Watt University. Before taking up his most recent role with Heriot-Watt University he undertook a trainee programme with Royal Mail as Operations Manager and worked in Mail Centres and Delivery Offices in several locations across Scotland.
