How to apply for accommodation

When you can apply

Applications for 2026/2027 (full academic year and Semester 1) open Monday 2 March 2026 at 09:00.

If you have an Unconditional or Conditional Firm offer

You are eligible to apply for accommodation. You are required to register an account and apply online in the accommodation portal.

Offers of accommodation will be made from July onwards for students holding an Unconditional Firm offer.

Applicants with a Conditional Firm status will be made an accommodation offer only once this is updated to Unconditional Firm. If you think your status should have been changed to Unconditional Firm, then undergraduate students should contact the Admissions Office, and postgraduate students should contact their Academic School or Institute.

Guarantor

A rent guarantor is someone who agrees to take financial responsibility for your accommodation. This is usually a parent, guardian, or friend. If you fail to pay your rent or other charges, the guarantor must cover the debt under a legally binding agreement.

• The guarantor must be financially able to cover all costs for the full duration of the tenancy

• This is not a credit check, and guarantors do not need to be UK‑based

• A completed guarantor form must be uploaded by all students during the application acceptance process

• Guarantors will only be contacted if payments are outstanding

• If you are a care‑experienced or sponsored student, please upload proof to the accommodation portal instead of a guarantor form
