Your guests/ tickets
Graduands do not require a ticket but they will be expected to register and collect a seating card when they arrive at the venue.
If you are attending the reception you and your guests will require a ticket.
Guest tickets can be ordered via the online graduation application for all ceremonies. Please note guest tickets are not posted out, all ordered guest tickets can be picked up on the day of your ceremony.
For the Summer 2020 graduation ceremonies, guest tickets are capped at three per graduand.
Please ensure that you explicity state the number of tickets (0, 1, 2, 3) you require when you order.
It will not be possible to purchase extra tickets at the graduation venue. Please do not arrive for your graduation with extra tickets on the day of your ceremony.
Note: all guests should retain their tickets for the duration of the graduation ceremony and to permit access to the reception afterwards. You may be requested to show your ticket at any time.
Refund Policy: If you submit an application to attend a graduation and subsequently change your order, you will not receive a refund for any tickets purchased if this change is made after the application deadline.
There is no guarantee that extra guest tickets will become available for any of the summer 2020 graduation ceremonies.
If extra tickets do become available, this page will be updated no earlier than Monday 15 June to advise which ceremonies have available tickets for purchase on a 'first come, first served basis'*, until Thursday 18 June 2020.
*only applies to students who applied before the deadline date of Thursday 28 May.
How to order extra tickets for graduation ceremonies in Edinburgh
Information on how to order extra tickets will be available from Monday 15 June.
Children are welcome to attend, however you should note that graduation ceremonies may not be suitable for very young children. Your party may be asked to sit at the end of an aisle or near an exit so that the child can be taken outside should they become restless. If children of age 5 or under require their own seat, a ticket must be requested for them.
If you or your guests have special requirements, e.g. a wheelchair user, vision/hearing impaired or claustrophobic etc, or if they have very young children, please indicate this in the special arrangements section of online graduation application. Please note that only Guide Dogs, Hearing Dogs and Assistance Dogs are permitted on campus. Car parking will be available on campus in selected areas, including an area of accessible parking for people who are disabled or with limited mobility. These will be clearly signposted from the main gate..
Guests with mobility issues
Please note that entry to the James Watt Centre is accessible. When you collect your guest tickets, please advise a member of staff at the desk and an usher will be called to assist you into the auditorium.
Food and Drinks
Please note that food and hot drinks are not permitted in the graduation ceremony venue.
