International Student Advice (Global Student Office)
On 05 October at 09.00 the Tier 4 route will close and will be replaced by the student route. If you have already applied under the Tier 4 route you do not need to take any action. The two routes are very similar and we will update our website to reflect the changes once the UK government has published their guidance on the student route.
The Global Student Office (GSO) advises and supports international students based at any of our UK campuses. If you have any concerns or queries, we will be happy to help you. We can provide a wide range of information and support, from immigration advice to welfare issues both before and after you arrive in the UK.
GSO has close links with all academic Schools within the University across all of its campuses, and with support services such as Recruitment and Admissions (International Recruitment Section), Student Wellbeing Services, and the University Chaplaincy.
Although COVID-19 is affecting our face to face sessions and our office is currently closed, you can still contact an international student advisor by emailing email@example.com or through the student portal. We are here to support you all through this difficult time and can offer online appointments if required.
We have two global student advisers and three global student assistants who can give you support and advice. You can come to one of our drop-in sessions to talk with a global student assistant or global student advisor. If you query is more complex, we will give you a one-to-one appointment with a global student adviser.
Where we are
We are based in the Student Service Centre (SSC) in the Hugh Nisbet Building on the Edinburgh Campus.
