Learning and Teaching Symposium 2016
The Learning and Teaching Symposium, chaired by Professor John Sawkins, Deputy Principal (Learning and Teaching) was held in the Postgraduate Centre on Wednesday, 26 October 2016.
The event showcased Learning and Teaching Enhancement projects led by Heriot-Watt staff and students.
The keynote lecture was given by Professor Linda Price, Head of technology enhanced learning and professor of educational technology in the Centre for Higher Education Research and Practice, Kingston University. Professor Price also holds a chair of engineer education at Lund University, Sweden.
Her address will raised important issues for Learning and Teaching at Heriot-Watt, such as:
- The interaction between pedagogy and technology
- Supporting the professional learning of engineers and chemists for a fast moving, digitally connected world
- Leveraging technologies to develop innovative pedagogies that enhance teaching and educate students for a complex and probably less certain future.
