Doing things differently
'Doing things Differently' is all about taking proactive steps making sure equality is central to all that we do at Heriot-Watt University. The campaign started in 2013 and you can follow our progress on these pages.
Previously we asked you about what YOU could do differently to help promote a culture of inclusion for all - you can see some of the reponses to that below.
But now we thought we thought it was time to tell you a little about what WE have been doing.
What have WE done differently?
Athena SWAN, a gender equality initiative, is one of our #HWUdifferently activities. We’ve been delivering our latest Athena SWAN action plan since 2013 and it’s been pivotal in progressing our gender equality ambitions. We’ve made lots of positive changes and we’d like to share our progress with you. Have a look at our poster.
What can YOU do differently?
To address inequality requires commitment and action from everyone, at all levels of the organisation and many of our staff and students have pledged in support of that, you can see some of the pledges in the short video below.
Each of us has the power to effect cultural change. We'd love you to join in - feel free to tweet your pledge using the hashtag #HWUdifferently.
