Our collaborations with academic institutions around the world help us enhance our reach and standing both nationally and internationally.

These partnerships provide access to the latest developments, innovations and shared knowledge in teaching and research. They also help us foster strong links with business and languages schools across the globe who share our passion for vibrant and relevant education with an industry focus - often leading to student exchanges, teaching mobility as well as collaborative research partnerships.

European Master in Sign Language Interpreting (EUMASLI)

EUMASLI is an international master study programme that is intended to contribute to the development of the professional field of interpreting between deaf and hearing people in Europe. It is a collaboration between Heriot-Watt University, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Humak University of Applied Sciences (Finland).

European Master in Strategic Project Management (MSPME)

This unique 16-month Masters programme is taught collaboratively between Heriot-Watt University, Politcnico di Milano in Italy and Umea University in Sweden. The programme is based around three interconnected themes of strategy, control and integration which reflect the core strengths of each partner.

International Master in Industrial Management (IMIM)

The IMIM programme is a three-semester programme which four leading universities in Europe have partnered together to offer: Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain, Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), Italy, Heriot-Watt University, and Technische Universitaet Muenchen (TUM), Germany. 

Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics (SGPE)

 Heriot-Watt University is one of 8 Scottish universities who participate in the Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics. By bringing together research and teaching expertise from established Scottish Universities the SGPE allows students to draw on a diverse pool of academic and professional expertise in Economics.The SGPE comprises an MSc (Masters) course which provides students with a thorough grounding in modern economic analysis and optionally three years of further study towards a PhD (Doctorate) at any of the participating universities.

Scottish Institute for Research in Economics (SIRE)

The outcome of a substantial investment by the Scottish Funding Council and the ten participating universities, which include Heriot-Watt, SIRE is an initiative which pools key areas of strength within the Scottish Economics research and builds on the distinguished tradition of Economics in Scotland. SIRE's focus is around 3 three themes:  Behaviour, Incentives and Contracts; Work and Wellbeing; and Macroeconomics, Financial Linkages and the Regions.
