Biography

I joined the actuarial profession in 2007 after completing a PhD in Set Theory. I spent over 11 years in actuarial practice, largely providing advice to government departments and public bodies on their unfunded pension scheme liabilities. I was seconded to the Asset Protection Agency in 2011, which was part of the UK government’s rescue package of RBS following the 2008 financial crisis. I am a member of the IFoA’s Pensions Consultations Subcommittee, which formulates IFoA responses to public consultations on pensions policy and legislation, and the IFoA Scottish Board.
