Morag has been a lay member of Court since 2015 and has sat on every committee at some point during her tenure. Morag was Deputy Chair of Court from 2018 to 2021 and from 2022 to 2023, and Chair of Court from 2021 to 2022.

Morag’s career was spent as a corporate lawyer advising on a wide range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, flotations and private equity deals. She was a senior partner in McGrigors LLP, one of Scotland’s largest law firms, which is now part of Pinsent Masons LLP. She then spent seven years with Forth Ports plc, a FTSE 250 company, as General Counsel. Morag brings strong governance and commercial legal expertise to the Court. Morag’s wider interests include all things French, as well as rugby and choral singing. Morag is a member of the Heriot-Watt Choir.
